How We Approach Your Care

Musculoskeletal symptoms can be influenced by several factors, including injury, activity, strength, movement, health and previous experiences of pain. Similar symptoms can have different causes, and scan findings do not always explain how a person feels or functions.

Our assessment considers your symptoms, medical history, activities, goals and relevant examination findings. Where diagnostic ultrasound is likely to add useful information, its findings are interpreted alongside the clinical assessment rather than in isolation.

We explain the available options, including their likely benefits, limitations, alternatives and relevant risks, so that decisions can be made with you.

Our Approach to MSK Care

Your body can respond differently to injury, illness, activity and changes in movement. Our approach is to understand the individual factors contributing to your symptoms and recommend the most appropriate assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.

Assessment, imaging and treatment together

Assessment, diagnostic ultrasound and rehabilitation from a single team, with image-guided procedures considered where clinically appropriate.

Experienced MSK clinicians

Experienced physiotherapists with advanced musculoskeletal and ultrasound training.

Imaging to support clinical assessment

Where appropriate, point-of-care ultrasound can examine relevant tissues. Findings are interpreted alongside your symptoms and examination.

Care based on the whole clinical picture

Pain and movement can be influenced by several local and wider factors. We consider the relevant clinical picture before recommending care.
